CompMechLab employees participated in Mikkeli (Finland) 6th CompMechWorkshop'2011 Symposium

6th Mikkeli Computational Mechanics Workshop (CompMechWorkshop'2010) organized by Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences Research Centre YTI and the Computational Mechanics Laboratory (CompMechLab®, with Prof. Alexey Borovkov as its Head) of St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University was held from August 8th till 12th, 2011. This Workshop is notable by its unique form. University specialists, experts from research and industrial companies and CompMechLab® employees are able to productively communicate at the Symposium, which motto is "ÑAD / FEA / CAE in Action!". 12 CompMechLab® employees and 8 accompanying people assisted the organization and work of the Symposium.

An overview of automakers’ PLM systems

Automakers are changing their PLM systems. They are increasingly relying on Dassault’s Catia and SiemensNX for car development. But they are also implementing software from other providers.

At the same time, users of PLM software are calling for more open systems. ProSTEP iViP, a global consortium promoting open standards, recently proposed a "Codex of PLM Openness". Several automakers are participating in a ProSTEP working group to prepare this document.
